Publisher Description
Stranded on an alien planet or one of the bodies of our Solar System?
Is your ship's primary computer system down?
No matter, we can make those key calculations for you in a few milliseconds!
You may just need our Escape Velocity Calculator before deciding to fire up your engines to see if you can make it off the surface... do you lift off or wait for rescue? It's a tough call and you need all of the information you can get.
Features include:
* Pre-programmed mass and radius values for many Solar System objects and more. Quick access!
* Enter your own Mass and Radius, also relative height (where your height is different to the mean ground / sea level of the object you're stranded on!)
* Find your OWN PERSONAL escape velocity (on the Earth only at this point!) by ascertaining latitude, longitude and height from your GPS co-ordinates and the calculator will work out the precise value by taking into account the oblateness of the Earth and your personal height. Those extra m/s could make all the difference!
Requires iOS 7.0 or later. Compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
